sök iller - looking to adopt ferret in sweden

Hi

I am looking to adopt one or two ferrets and I live in Stockholm with my Swedish partner…we have the space to have them and my partner is well educated on taking care of ferrets.  We will travel to the location preferably in Sweden.  Please reply if you know anyone or have information where to begin looking.  I have found the name Marie Bartholdsson on google in Sweden as a breeder and don't know how to contact her directly.  Anyone else?  Or a place to go?  Tack! jksoph

Hi! Marie no longer sells ferrets (since 2004), thats why her contact information is no longer listed. But you can find a list of breeders here, not all breeders in sweden are listed, but many are: http://www.iller.ifokus.se/Forum/Read.aspx?ThreadId=aab29308-7e1e-4724-9886-369e3d201020&GroupType=Se.iFokus.Community.Board.ForumGroup

There are also many of this years kits, and older ferrets looking for new homes… new adds pop up daily on this forum.

Good luck in your search!

tack!  thank you for the information …I will be in touch and see with my partner what he wishes to do..we are looking for kit/pup ferret that we can raise and train…my partner has a lot of knowledge on ferrets/iller and is eager to adopt in the next month (early January)/  Is that possible for anyone who has a ferret/ferrets to adopt…and if you reply, please quote the price for having one and any other costs to include.  Many thanks…the sooner the better :-) jksoph

It is more or less impossible to find a kit this time of the year (they are born in spring and early summer unless someone has two litters or a very late one), but you could probably get hold of a young adult.

The price for a kit from a "proper" (up to you to decide who's proper or not) breeder varies between 1500kr and 3500kr about. I'd recommend to get a kit that is vaccinated, checked by a vet and chipped. On top of that some history of the parents etc :)

It is also worth checking sites like Blocket.se for re-homing ads, as sadly many young ferrets are re-homed at this time of the year.

My kits are born may 31 so they are almost 7 months Skrattande

January goes very well if you adopt from me. Because I want them to move to good homes, they will live home as long as it takes Glad

The kits are chipped, vaccinated and checked by a vet. They also got a pedigree

I take 2500 kr for one kit

hi sounds good Denise…a couple of questions

is it possible to visit you in Vasteras to see them first and talk…of course we want to be sure and so do you about making a match and since you are close enough -- meaning not utlandet Flört -- it would be worth the trip for us being first-timers

also we live in an apartment and there are woods nearby but the ferret would  be mostly raised inside…are your ferrets used to running free outside?

let me know your thoughtsGlad
